International Network for Simulation-based for Paediatric Innovation, Research & Education (INSPIRE)
INSPIRE Meeting at ASPiH 2019 Belfast
Meeting to be held during ASPiH’s 10th Anniversary conference, 4 - 6 November at ICC Belfast Waterfront
Interested in Simulation Research?
Join us for our first ever INSPIRE meeting at ASPiH on Tuesday 5th November @ 14.30pm
What is INSPIRE and why should I come to the meeting?
INSPIRE is a collaborative group of researchers and educators (novice through expert) who share a common vision of improving the health and care of children around the world using simulation. The INSPIRE meeting will include time to discuss potential research projects, allow attendees to have direct mentee-mentor discussions and may include mini-workshop-like sessions on relevant simulation research topics relevant to the INSPIRE & ASPiH audience. All those interested in simulation research and education are encouraged to attend, network and learn from peers.
How does it work?
An INSPIRE meeting focuses on presentations by researchers wanting collaboration and/or mentorship for their project. Projects are presented via a standardised template.
The standard presentation is a 5-minute presentation that encapsulates either your new simulation-based research idea (as a new presentation), or your progress in implementing an INSPIRE-based research project (as a progress report). We expect that most of the presentations at ASPiH will be new presentations as this is the first meeting. The idea is to present the distilled essence of your study at an INSPIRE Meeting. The presentations are presented in this format back-to-back. Once the presentation is delivered you will be assigned a small table where you will discuss your project with up to 10 participants, receive feedback, and in turn have the opportunity to give feedback to others. Our ultimate goal is to give your team the feedback and networking you need to launch a successful single or multi-site study.

How can I submit a Presentation?
In order to provide a better understanding of the presentation process we have created an Instruction Template to assist you in preparing your submission.
Please download and use the following 2019 presentation Templates:
- 2019 INSPIRE General Template. This template should be used for new presentation submissions. Pick PICO or SPIDER format and delete the other.
- INSPIRE Progress Template. This template should be used for those submitting an update on a previous project/presentation
For more detailed information regarding the INSPIRE network, engagement with an existing project, and the overall scientific review process, please view this resource.
Once complete, please email your presentation to [email protected] by September 30, 2019.
Your submission will be reviewed and you will be contacted within a couple of weeks regarding presenting at ASPiH. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the INSPIRE Scientific Review Committee at the same address.
