What's happening in the ASPiH Exec......

Nick Murch relinquished his position on the ASPiH Executive committee in June 2018, unfortunately we could not compete with his job and other activites, mainly swimming! We will miss you Nick, but congratulations on being the first to swim the North Channel in 2018.

Michael Moneypenny was invited to join the ASPiH Exec Committee. He is Director of the Scottish Centre for Simulation and Clinical Human Factors and Consultant Anaesthetist at Forth Valley Royal Hospital

At ASPiH 2017 Telford it was announced that Andy Anderson will be moving on to pastures new - he assures us it is not retirement!

We also said farewell to Susie Howes who was the Southern Project Lead for the Standards Consultation and launch in 2016 and over the years has been instrumental in building ASPiH's relationships and affiliations with  national and international simulation organisations - thank you Susie!

We welcomed Jivendra Gosai to the Executive Committe, Jiv has recently been appointed to a consultant post at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS trust. In 2017, he was awarded a research MD degree from the University of Sheffield for his work examining the role of simulation based education in contemporary postgraduate medical education - welcome Jiv!

We have said farewell to Peter Jaye, Consultant in Emergency Medicine at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Trust (GSTT) and Director of simulation in the SaIL centre.

In recognition of his committment and work on behalf of  the organisation, Peter has been granted an ASPiH fellowship - a lifelong membership of the Association and joins those previously honoured with this title - Alan Platt and Frank Coffey.
